[Some of] my favorite YouTube short films

Earlier last year, I really let my love for short films show. A major hobby of mine is watching all the short films I can, which usually ends up with me looking at my desktop clock and saying, “Wow! Is it really [insert time after 3am here]??”

Heh.

Sooo, you’re gonna need some audio for these; not many have actual words, but the music helps emphasize certain pieces of each film.

These are in absolutely no order of favoritism because I can’t choose just ONE.

I occasionally add some to my Tumblr when I’m not lazy.

Dragonboy

It’s a cute story about cute kids in a cute play, and it’s just cute, okay?

Ex-ET

Didn’t ya know? Earth’s the place for alien rejects.

In Sickness

Death’s portrayed darkly in this; the film’s comments contain a lot of angry comments focusing on that matter, but I feel like they didn’t actually watch the entire film. >.>

Lutins

There’s something about a “Lutin” that’s awesome β€” maybe it’s the fact that it’s like a pet that comes with each house, or maybe it’s because of its love for the house, or maybe it’s that connection it has with the house. Either way, I was pretty disappointed when it ended ’cause I WANT ONE.

Out to Play (with a Magic Box)

What’s so funny? πŸ˜€

Premier Automne

The description does a better job than I can:

Abel lives in the winter and Apolline lives in the summer. Isolated in their “natures”, they never met each other. They are not even supposed to meet. So when Abel crosses the border and discovers Apolline, curiosity is overwhelming. Their encounter soon becomes more complicated than they could imagine. Both of them will have to learn compromise to protect the other…

WAH. D;

In other news, Alight, a film I found today, reminds me of this one.

Reversal of the Heart

It’s about revenge with a twist.

Rooted

I THINK THIS IS MY OVERALL FAVORITE. Maybe. My favorites change all the time. This is one of the first few I watched on YouTube.

Seconds

One day consists of 86,400 seconds. This is one of them.

Slimtime

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ZYVogCYsdA

A weird, futuristic way of how to become skinny fast.

…they walk like dolls.

The Desk

I never got a desk boyfriend. >.> (Preferably the main character.)

(YES, it’s a cheesy film. Hush.)

Zero

This one is super weird. There’s a movie it reminds me of, but I can’t put my finger on it. If you know it, PLEASE LEMME KNOW NOW. All I saw of it was that these “kids” were like rubber band people or spare parts or SOMETHING who were on a pile/in a junkyard of other spare parts. IDEK. I’m certain it’s not Robots. (Google was no help.)

Anyway, it explores an argument I made with some friends in in high school: “If ‘nothing’ is just that β€” nothing β€” then how can ‘nothing’ be ‘something’? …because if you’re doing ‘nothing’, then you’re obviously doing something, which therefore makes your answer of ‘nothing’ invalid.”

I watched the first few!

I’m amused by the idea of Lutins too, haha. Way more amused than I should be. It was a cool concept. πŸ˜€

I was also way more affected by the alien film than I should’ve been. At one point I was kind of mad at the other aliens… :))

I have to watch the rest tomorrow! πŸ˜€

I’ve only recently acquired a love for short films (if 3 years is a short time). I’ll have to check these out once my computer stops moving so slow. Thanks for the recommends!

Ooh, I’m bookmarking this! I love short films, especially of the Pixar variety. “Paperman” is one of my favorites. I can’t wait to check all of these out!

These remind me of those films that come before Pixar movies. If only I had 84 hours to watch them all, I would. But I have to watch game playthroughs first. XD Maybe I’ll watch Dragonboy first though.

Ah, it’s 84 minutes and 34 seconds or one hour, 24 minutes and 24 seconds. xD

I just watched Dragonboy, and it was adorable! I’ll have to come back and check out the rest when I have time (and am not at work, haha). As for the last one, your description reminds me of the movie called “9”?

OMG THAT IS IT. THAT IS THE MOVIE.
