INTIMINA Lily Cup Compact Review

This was posted years ago to another blog, then I later posted it on my blog and took the review offline shortly after. It’s back online now to prevent broken links and will be updated with photos once I find this cup again.~

I reached out to INTIMINA about reviewing the Lily Cup Compact in their Kickstarter campaign, so they sent me one to review.

I chose to review Size A as an autistic adult who switched to reusable menstrual products to save money on menstrual products. My flow is heavy, but larger cup sizes are too big for me because I have vaginismus.

What is the Lily Cup Compact?

The Lily Cup Compact is a collapsible menstrual cup by INTIMINA. It is available in two sizes: Size A and Size B.

Size comparison chart

Size A is great for people who… Size B is great for people who…
Haven’t given birth Have given birth
Had a cesarean (C-section) Have a weaker pelvic floor
Have a light flow Have a medium flor

I have a heavy flow and have never given birth or had a C-section. I’ve tried larger-sized cups, but they either didn’t fit or caused a lot of pain, so I stuck with smaller sizes. My Lily Cup Compact is Size A.

My experience using the Lily Cup Compact

Super convenient + discreet

My initial thoughts about this menstrual cup is how convenient it is. The compact case fits in my pockets, no matter how small they are. No one would know that it’s a menstrual cup unless they recognized the case.

Learning curve + easy to mess up

Inserting the Lily Cup Compact takes a lot of trial and error. I have far more fails than successes because there’s not much room for me to insert it. The hole I’m working with is not that big.

I’ve tried every kind folding method there is to insert a menstrual cup. The Lily Cup Compact almost always collapses against a wall upon insertion or collapses while removing.

I’ve dropped a menstrual cup in the toilet before and bought a new one because it was old anyway, and I didn’t want to take the chance of E. coli risk. Never have I ever feared dropping a menstrual cup into the toilet as much as I do with the Lily Cup Compact.

Collapsed inside of me 🙈

My Lily Cup Compact collapsed inside of me one day at work, causing a quick, uncomfortable mess. I’m not sure what exactly led to the situation, but I took an early lunch to rush home and remedy the situation.

I stopped using my Lily Cup Compact for a few years out of fear, but started using it again in 2021 after I started working from home. It did collapse inside of me again after stretching in all sorts of ways. I’m not sure if this is something that happens because of my body or if other people experience it.

Who I’d recommend this collapsible menstrual cup for

If you need a menstrual cup that is convenient, and the Ziggy Cup (actually a menstrual disc) isn’t for you, the Lily Cup Compact is a great choice if you’re an expert at menstrual cups.

My problem could be that I don’t have the greatest dexterity/motor skills and have carpal tunnel syndrome — and not an issue of this cup itself.
